About Second Step® Family

We are the leading provider of social-emotional learning curriculum, with successful, research-backed programs in 45,000 schools across the country and around the world.

Combining classroom discussions with fun activities and family resources, Second Step® lessons help children build important life skills like teamwork, communication, responsible decision-making, and managing strong emotions.

Second Step® Elementary addresses the specific needs of kids from kindergarten to fifth grade.  Our “stacked” lesson plans build on each other to give students a strong social-emotional foundation that helps them thrive—in class, at home, and in their communities.
We encourage parents to explore all the offerings on this site.

In addition to the videos that correspond to your Family Booklets, you can check out sample lessons and classroom kits, download a complete list of the units and weekly lesson topics for each grade, and get full details about the benefits of social-emotional learning for kids and the research behind Second Step® Elementary.

We’re excited for the opportunity to be part of helping your child become the best they can be, at whatever they choose to do, and wherever their life leads them!
